Searching for Joy

When we seek with our minds to know what we can
and strive among ourselves to understand,
and wonder at truths beyond the senses’ span,
we come upon the infinite’s helping hand.

In joy, the inner soul is touched; the heart
unfolds itself and lifts the veil of blindness,
so we see ourselves as a true, connected part
and yearn for the infinite’s vast gift of kindness.

When we embrace our creative inner tide
and answer imagination’s vivid, clear call,
the soul steps free, no longer forced to hide,
and joins the deeper mystery that embraces all.

But where there is no search, there is no repose;
without the soul’s reach, only the silence grows.
